Modular Kitchen and Dining Facility For International Workers in Nigeria

PKL provided a modular remote site kitchen and dining facility for a client in the Nigerian port of Lagos, West Africa.

The installation took place within an economic free zone in the city, strategically positioned at the entry point of Lagos Harbour.

The client required a high quality modular kitchen and dining facility, to provide three meals a day for 500 international employees at an oil and gas plant.

Following a period of design development, one of PKL’s 300m2 TW600D remote site kitchen and dining facilities was chosen as a suitable solution. The kitchen and dining facility is capable of providing more than 200 covers in a single sitting.

The kitchen element of the modular camp facility was built at PKL in the UK, ensuring that its construction, testing and commissioning took place in a factory controlled environment, and shipped fully constructed to the client in Nigeria. The dining units were shipped from the UK in flat pack modules and constructed on site.

A PKL installation team was sent to oversee the construction and commissioning of the camp in Nigeria. As well as project managing the entire process, they also supervised the supplemental local workforce who were used to help construct the dining units. It took around 3 weeks for the facility to be built onsite in Nigeria, commissioned and handed over to the client.
