Construction Camp Kitchen on Saadiyat Island

PKL were responsible for the design, specification and delivery of a temporary kitchen and dining facility for a construction camp on Saadiyat Island.

Working with Leighton Project Management to facilitate the delivery and installation of the equipment, site supervision and commissioning and testing of equipment, PKL also supplied comprehensive construction and site drawings to aid the installation and construction process.

Together with the onsite contract caterer, PKL developed a modular kitchen facility, tailored towards feeding the largely Asian workforce. The kitchen was fitted out in the UK and was transported as modular units to Saadiyaat Island.

The facility was constructed in six weeks from receiving the order and took two weeks to assemble onsite. The kitchen and dining complex is onsite for a planned period of 12 months.
